36 Weeks

My sweet friend Aimee took some pictures of Jordan and I while we visited my family for Christmas. She has started a photography business in Baldwin County recently and I stole a few photos she posted on her Flikr account:) Thought I'd capture a photo of my belly at 36 weeks and display some of her beautiful pictures. All the pictures she took are AMAZING and they are going to be a great way to remember my first pregnancy. I can't wait until she takes pictures of Emily Kathryn!! Thank you so much Aimee for finding the time for the photos....I know your schedule has been crazy busy. To see more of Aimee's work check out her blog link on the right.

Emily Kathryn's Room

I got a new camera for Christmas and thought I would try it out by taking some pictures of Emily Kathryn's room. Only a few more weeks to go!!

31 Weeks

It's hard to believe Emily Kathryn is already 31 weeks old. Time is going by so fast!! Today we went for our last ultrasound. She didn't cooperate that much...apparently 8:30am is her nap time. However, there are a few photos of her face and I love the photo of her hands. They also told us that she has lots of hair already!!

Birmingham Shower

What a great weekend!!! My mom, sister, and niece drove to Birmingham on Saturday. We shopped all afternoon...had delicious O'Carr's chicken salad...and stayed up really late laughing. On Sunday, my sister and some friends from Birmingham honored us with a baby shower. We got so many great baby gifts...the food was delicious...and being able to catch up with so many friends at one time was nice!! Here are just a few pictures from Sunday afternoon. Thanks Holley, Dana, Kelly, Kristina, and Susan for going to so much trouble for the Barrow family.

Baldwin County Baby Shower

This past weekend Jordan and I went to Robertsdale to visit my family. On Sunday some of my friends from high school threw a baby shower for Emily Kathryn. It was so fun to see everyone and we got lots of great gifts. Here are a few pictures from Sunday.

My friend Sherie made this cute diaper cake!!

Me, Barbara, and Sherie

Emily Kathryn got lots of clothes...and jewelry:)

This is my brother's contribution to the shower. Since he is a huge FSU fan, he thought EmK needed some gameday gear. She now has Alabama, Auburn, and FSU gear -- I think she is going to be confused.

Nap Time

Lately, we have been working on our nursery and spending lots of time in there just talking about what life will be like when Emily Kathryn is here.

The funniest thing happened yesterday afternoon. I found Jordan asleep in Emily Kathryn's room (and had to get a picture). The reason I find this so funny (and extremely cute) is that he has an upstairs room that we refer to as the "man room". So the fact that he opted to nap in his daughter's room instead of falling asleep to the sound of College Football Live on the big screen just cracks me up!!!

Hey everybody! Check out this link to see some great photos of my sister and her family (The Smith Family). One of my best friends from high school (Aimee) is now back in Baldwin County and has a photography business. She is a great photographer!! I can't wait for her to take pictures of Emily Kathryn.

25 Weeks

Here is my latest belly photo....I really hope my friends who don't see me everyday and ask about my belly appreciate these pictures when I post them....they are definitely posted for you! It's just hard to capture a great angle of myself at this point. Either way the belly is expanding and in person I can really tell...and so can my brother...he was very quick to tell me this past weekend!!

Weekend at my Parents

This weekend we went to Robertsdale to visit my family. We stayed busy by visiting friends, attending Ethan's birthday party, and watching a little football (some enjoyed their game more than others). I tried to take some pictures of my sister's kids for a secret project. While I'm not sure I got great photos, I thought this one was too cute...and it will allow some of you that know my sister to see how quickly her kids are growing up. Ethan (5), Evan (almost 2), and Elizabeth (8).

I also caught a glimpse of Jordan and Evan discussing Alabama and Auburn football.

Our First Project

As soon as I heard that our crib was here, I asked Jordan if we could put it together. At first I panicked because Jordan told me that there were no directions...but it was no big deal because he didn't NEED directions. Anyone who knows me knows that I always follow the directions when it comes to putting something together so I searched and searched and finally he found them. I think he would totally agree with me that without the directions we would still be trying to figure it out.

I just wanted to post a few pictures of my great husband and his handy work -- I hear he had a GREAT assistant (that would be ME). I know you can't see much of the final project, but that's because I was so impatient to see the crib put together that I didn't give him a chance to remove the guest room furniture. So, currently it's a little tight in the room...but hopefully by the weekend all the extra furniture will be in the attic.

Emily Kathryn Barrow

Well, we have finally decided on a name for our baby girl - Emily Kathryn. Emily Kathryn is actually the name I have always wanted to use for a little girl. I first hesitated because my sister has three kids with names that start with the letter "E" so I thought maybe I should try a different letter. After my dad jokingly asked if I was going to pick a letter of the alphabet to start naming my kids, I decided maybe we should just keep the "E" theme going:)

Kathryn has special meaning for me because it is my sister's middle name. When my sister had her first child, which was a little girl, she used my middle name Elizabeth...so I've always wanted to use her middle name in return. So because of that, we will be calling our little girl Emily Kathryn.

So, if you're reading this Holley, I want you to know that I love you with all my heart and I'm so thankful God chose you to be MY sister!!!

20 Weeks

Well, a few of my out of town friends have asked about my growing bump and to post pictures. Well, here is my attempt to capture my growing belly.

Everything is going great. We are still trying to agree on a name and hope to start painting the nursery soon...assuming I can figure out a time that won't interfere with Jordan's love of Alabama football!

Have a great week!

Guess What?

Today turned the 18 week mark in our pregnancy and it was time to have a sonogram to determine whether baby Barrow is a boy or girl!!! After little sleep and a long day of waiting, we now know that we are having a GIRL!!!! We were both so thrilled to learn that she is 100% healthy and looks just perfect. I was worried we might not get to find out the gender today if she didn't cooperate, so a friend suggested I have a little caffeine before the appointment....and it worked. We got tons of great photos and a video!

I've added a few sonogram pictures (we have many) for all of you to see. We are just so excited and feel so blessed!! God is so amazing and we just can't believe He is giving us such a precious gift! Hope you enjoy!

Now it's time to start thinking about names and a nursery:)

Welcome!!

WELCOME to our blog! I'm definitely new at this, so hopefully I'll get better as we go. So many of our friends have blogs and it's such a good way to keep up with everyone and see great photos, so I thought we would do the same. I'm especially excited about my "blogging" so that my parents and siblings (and of course out of town friends) can keep up with our baby once he/she arrives.

We find out in 4 days (yes, I'm counting down) if we are having a girl or boy. Jordan asks me just about every day if I think it's a boy or girl...and I'm just not sure. Either way, it will be so exciting to find out!

Thanks for checking out our blog.....more to come later!!
